The sports airwaves just got better!
Veteran radio host Cayman Kelly just made history as the first Black voice of ESPN radio, PR Newswire reports.
Kelly is a best-selling author and entertainment voiceover veteran best known for their role as host of Sirius XM’s Heart & Soul radio show, where he’s been a mainstay on the airwaves for the last 17 years. In addition to his work on-air, Kelly has also lent his voice to several commercials, narrations, and television programs. You can hear him on projects for TV Land, FOX, Cartoon Network, Bounce TV and the iconic video game, “Grand Theft Auto V.” Now, Kelly is making history as the first Black voice of ESPN radio.
“Voice-over is my passion, and I am so proud to be a voice for the ESPN network. It is a very fulfilling career. I am fortunate to have evolved and expanded my voice versatility after beginning this journey as a young man. I am also energized to do my part helping to diversify the voices in sports and continue to be a trusted voice,” Kelly said.
The continued collaboration with ESPN Sports will have Kelly serve as the voice of ESPN Radio, offering sports fans moment to moment updates on ”ESPN weekday line ups, podcasts, live events, TV ads, and select ESPN audio content.”

The host began his voiceover career in high school, reading promos and commercials, eventually hosting a show on his college campus radio station and graduating to becoming an on-air personality at a leading radio station in the District of Columbia. Kelly said he hopes his journey inspires so many others and marks this moment as a highlight in his 20-year career.
