Three siblings from Brightwaters, Long Island are making history!
Helaina, Henri, and Henniyah Rivers, 17-year-old triplets, have officially earned their Eagle Scout status, becoming the first Black triplets in the nation to do so, according to CBS New York.
The trio’s path to this moment has been years in the making. It started when they were just 11 years old, after meeting the Suffolk County Sheriff and sharing their dream of giving back through community service. From there, they dedicated themselves to scouting, earning merit badges and taking on service projects that helped improve public spaces in their hometown.
Now high school graduates, the Rivers triplets are proving that service and excellence go hand in hand. With their historic scouting milestone behind them, they’re already setting their sights on the next big goal, representing Jamaica, their mother’s homeland, in alpine skiing at the upcoming Winter Olympic trials.
“We’re just very thankful to have such loving, supportive parents guiding us through it all,” Henniyah told CBS New York.
Congratulations to these triplets!
