We are getting our first look at the new documentary that explores the story of legendary Black supermodel Donyale Luna.

The trailer for the HBO original documentary “Donyale Luna: Supermodel” was released on August 28. The doc takes a detailed look into the life of the iconic Luna — who is known as the first Black supermodel.

Luna was born Peggy Ann Freeman in Detroit, Michigan, in 1945. She went on to become an international modeling sensation during the late 1960s through the early 1970s — navigating intense racism in the fashion industry while building her career.

Luna’s historic fashion moments include being the first Black woman to cover Harper’s Bazaar and British Vogue.
