LeBron James is know for helping students dream bigger in the classroom and off the court. And this time, the journey led straight to the racetrack.
As part of the LeBron James Family Foundation’s I PROMISE program, a student named CeCe was given the opportunity to shadow a real NASCAR pit crew at the Ally 400 in Nashville. It was an unforgettable moment made possible through LeBron’s ongoing commitment to exposing students to new career paths and experiences outside of the classroom.
LeBron’s work with the I PROMISE program has always focused on giving students access to opportunities they might not otherwise have. From education to career exposure, his goal is to show kids, especially Black youth that their dreams are valid and within reach.
Thanks to LeBron and his team, CeCe got an exclusive tour of the track, met real drivers, and even experienced the behind-the-scenes tech that powers race day. From walking into the garage to meeting the crew, trying on a headset, and watching the team in action, CeCe was fully immersed in the high-speed world of NASCAR.
In the video, CeCe’s reaction is full of excitement and curiosity as he gets a firsthand look at a world he’s always been interested in. He reflects on the experience with gratitude, calling it an honor and a blessing.
Moments like these are more than cool surprises, they’re reminders of what can happen when young Black kids are not only seen, but supported and believed in.
