Dr. Sarah Blackwell was born and raised in Matthews, North Carolina. An HBCU alum hailing from North Carolina A&T, she earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science. Later, she attended Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed an internship for large animal medicine and surgery.
Now she has the pleasure of saying she owns her own practice! Her cousin took to TikTok to share the grand opening of the adorably pink animal clinic in Charlotte, N.C. Watching her dreams come true was surely a moment to remember!

Ark Veterinary Services LLC is Black woman-owned mixed animal ambulatory veterinary practice serving North Carolina and South Carolina. Dr. Sarah Blackwell offers internal medicine, surgical, and primary care to large animals like horses, cows, pigs, and poultry species.
When she’s not saving animals, she enjoys working out, fishing, and spending time with her family and pets.
