The two-time WNBA MVP, A’ja Wilson, is solidifying her status as a trailblazer in women’s sports.
Nike welcomed A’ja Wilson, one of basketball’s brightest stars, to its prestigious lineup of signature athletes, the sports apparel company announced. Wilson’s partnership with Nike marks a significant milestone in her career as she becomes the latest addition to the brand’s signature family.
For over a year, Wilson has collaborated closely with Nike’s innovation, product development, and design teams to curate a signature collection that embodies her unique style, exceptional performance, and unapologetic authenticity. The collection, including a signature shoe, highlights Wilson’s influence and impact on and off the court.
“It’s been incredible working with Nike toward a dream of having my collection, and it really is an honor to take this next step and become a Nike signature athlete,” expressed Wilson. “From my logo to the look of the shoe and the pieces throughout the collection, we’ve worked to make sure every detail is perfectly tuned to my game and style.”
Wilson’s collaborative spirit and keen insights have guided the design process, ensuring that her signature shoe not only enhances her performance but also resonates with her personal aesthetic. Ben Nethongkome, the lead footwear designer for Wilson’s collection, praised her leadership and vision throughout the collaboration.
“I hope when girls wear this shoe, they believe in themselves,” shared Wilson. “I want them to hopefully lace them up, feel powerful, and understand that nobody can stop them from their dreams.”
In joining Nike’s roster of signature athletes, Wilson joins a cohort of trailblazing women, including Serena Williams, Megan Rapinoe, Naomi Osaka, and Sabrina Ionescu, who have partnered with the brand to create collections with deeper meaning. Wilson’s signature collection, available in women’s, men’s, and kids’ sizing, will be released globally on nike.com and SNKRS, as well as at select retailers in 2025.
Wilson is also slated to debut in a Gatorade campaign later this spring as part of a multi-year deal. With her exceptional talent and numerous achievements, Wilson has solidified her status as one of the most accomplished players in women’s basketball history.
